9 Days Kenya Safari

Day 1- Transfer from Nairobi-Samburu National Reserve
After your early breakfast, the driver guide picks you up from your hotel, residence or airport and you embark on your comfortable journey North of Nairobi reaching around lunchtime and you check-in at your reserved lodge or camp for your lunch and refreshment.
At 1600hrs, you go for a late afternoon game drive to look out for the park’s residents like buffaloes, cheetahs, elephants, Grevy’s zebras, oryx and giraffes. You then retreat to the lodge for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 2- Morning and afternoon Game Drives in the Reserve
On this 2nd day, you wake up to have your delicious breakfast very early and head out for another morning game drive to thoroughly look out for the park’s game that you missed to view during your evening game drive upon arrival like the rhinos, and if lucky the leopard and the lions returning from a night’s hunt. This time round you spend the whole day having game drives with a picnic lunch as you watch some of the aquatic animals like the crocodiles and the hippos on the Waso Nyiro River and some of the 450 bird species like the vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches and among others flying over the park’s endless skies before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3- An Early Morning Game Drive, Visit the Samburu Community
On the 3rd day at the reserve, you wake up to an early morning drive after breakfast and after you head to encounter the Samburu people who are completely pastoralists as they herd their cattles in the vast savanna grasslands and plains. You return to the lodge for lunch.
You then visit the Samburu people in their community after your lunch and have a chance to interact with them, study their culture and purchase their souvenirs and artifacts and before you know it, you are returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4- Depart Samburu-Masai Mara National Reserve
After your morning breakfast, you start your journey of 708 kilometers to Masai Mara National Reserve spending about 12 hours driving with your lunch en-route. You will reach Masai Mara late in the evening for your lodge check-in for dinner and overnight.

Day 5- Full day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve
By 0600hours the driver guide together with a park ranger picks you up from your camp/lodge after your early breakfast for a thrilling and breath-taking game drive where you view the beautiful game like the elephants, giraffe, zebras, Grant’s gazelles, ostrich, warthogs, wildebeest, and hyenas among others. The lions and leopards are nocturnal in nature so spotting them is a bit difficult. You head back to the lodge for lunch and spend the whole evening relaxing from the hectic travels as you ready yourself for dinner and an early overnight.

Day 6- Go for a birding safari and a cultural Walk within the Masai Community
After your breakfast, you go for a special bird watching activity with a great photographic experience rewarding your visit and you return for lunch at the lodge.
In the afternoon you move out for a cultural walk to experience the Maasai people dancing in circles and jump very high in air as a kind of their traditional dance. You will see them consume raw milk, meat and blood of cattle, and see their small houses constructed with mud, cow dung, grass and sticks and then you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7-8 - Game Viewing
After your breakfast, you engage yourself in full day game drives for three days to exhaust the Masai Mara residents going deep into the Kenya-Tanzania border where you will spot the wild game cross borders freely during their great migration season which starts from July-October. Zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, and wildebeest are some of the game migrating from Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park into Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. You then will be returning to your lodge for dinner and overnights.

Day 9- Depart Masai Mara for Nairobi
After your delicious breakfast, you set foot off Masai land and head straight to Nairobi with your lunch en-route reaching in the afternoon for your drop off at the hotel, your residence or airport.
